Ileana Appleton Foster (b. 1984) is a graphic designer and visual artist based in Camden, Maine. She received her BA in Visual Arts & Communications from Franklin University Switzerland in Lugano, and studied an additional two years of art at Ceruleum/IPAC Ecole de Design in Geneva, Switzerland. Her passion for design drives the development of her own visual expression.
Ileana's printmaking uses a combination of embossing and chine collé, pressed paper. Influenced by our local ecosystem and the surrounding islands and archipelagos, she uses barks, foliage, organic shapes, and landforms to inspire her prints. Her work is lyrical and balanced. There is simple joy in the clarity of her arrangements.
